Bareta is a small municipal town in Mansa District of Punjab. Although at present this small town is relatively undeveloped, but it certainly has potential to achieve desired economic growth in coming decades. One of the main reasons for this optimism is strategic location of Bareta town. By virtue of which it is located very near to two of the developed cities of Mansa District – Mansa city and Budhlada city. Bareta town is actually already benefiting a lot because of proximity to these towns.

Economy of Bareta

Bareta town falls in one of the most important agricultural belt of Punjab. Agriculture would be backbone of this town’s economy. Putting it statistically, then more than 60% of Bareta’s workforce earns their livelihood from agriculture – either directly or indirectly. Cotton is grown in abundance. That’s because the entire Mansa District is a cotton belt and is fondly called as the "Area of white gold". If you visit Bareta or any other parts of Mansa District during seasonal months of November and December, then you’ll see huge farmlands that are filled with white pristine cotton. The view is indeed very breathtaking. But more important fact to note is that cotton crop is an integral part of Bareta as well as Mansa’s economy. Moving to industrial sector, then Bareta town does not have any substantial presence of factories. Actually Mansa District is a very industrially backward district hence scope for industrial growth is anyways very low.

Safety and Security in Bareta

There is a small police station operating in Bareta town that fully keeps tab on all types of unlawful activities in the town. However, over all unlawful activities and crime rates in Bareta town have always been very low. Thanks to this fact local people here hardly have to resort to local police station to seek any guarantee for their safety and security. This, however, does not mean that officials in Bareta police station don’t stay vigilant or take law and order situation for granted. They most certainly stay vigilant for 24 hours and 7 days a week, which is partly why law and order of this town has always stayed in control.

Transportation in Bareta

Bareta does have a railway station. However, not many trains halt at Bareta Railway Station, but it is nonetheless connected to few of the important cities of Punjab as well as neighboring Haryana state. These important cities include Bathinda, Jakhal, Mansa and Delhi. To support local transportation this has decent numbers of auto rickshaws. Unsurprisingly they are sole care taker of entire local transportation system of this small town. The available numbers of auto rickshaws though are doing a pretty fine job in whatever ways they could. In doing so they help thousands of local commuters everyday in easing their day to day lives.
